Did you know that not for profit and faith-based organizations are at the heart of building our communities? From feeding the hungry to providing educational programs, to counseling services, and fostering unity, the organizations provide vital services that uplift lives and make a lasting impact. Organization for Responsible Governance (ORG), in partnership with Sanigest Internacional and with support from the Templeton Religion Trust, is launching the groundbreaking initiative Map4Good. This initiative will empower The Bahamas to better understand the true impact of these dedicated organizations.

Leading the charge on this innovative project is Vanessa Bethel, who brings a wealth of experience to the role. Vanessa, Project Manager of Map4Good, hails from Abaco and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Smith College and has been working with the ORG team for over a year. With a background in project management, stakeholder engagement, and database development, Vanessa is dedicated to ensuring that nonprofits and faith-based groups gain the visibility and resources they need to thrive.
Over the next year, Map4Good aims to develop a comprehensive publicly available database and an interactive map of every nonprofit and faith-based organization across The Bahamas. These powerful tools will give these organizations an unprecedented opportunity to grow their networks, and collaborate toward similar goals. The platform offers a unique opportunity for greater cooperation and coordination, helping to make sure that services reach those who need them most and allowing us to track the vital role these organizations play in the nation’s development.
But this isn’t just a tool for organizations. Map4Good is also designed to involve everyday citizens. Whether you are looking for services or programs in your community, or just a concerned citizen who wants to volunteer or contribute, this platform connects and empowers anyone who wants to make a difference.
