Civil Society is the backbone of a democratic society and plays a pivotal role in good governance and the engagement, education, and empowerment of citizens in The Bahamas. It represents Nonprofit Organizations (NPOS), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Faith-Based Organizations, and other Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Associations, and groups across the nation.

Map4Good

Map4Good Bahamas is an initiative by the Organization for Responsible Governance (ORG) aimed at mapping and connecting Bahamian non-profits and faith-based organizations. This project is designed to create a comprehensive directory that highlights the contributions of these organizations and facilitates collaboration across sectors.

NPO Cluster Training

The Organization for Responsible Governance (ORG) is committed to enhancing the leadership and governance capacities of Bahamian environmental and conservation organizations. Our Non-Profit Organization (NPO) Cluster Training offers a comprehensive monthly leadership series designed to equip NPOs with essential skills and knowledge. Eligible organizations include registered CSOs with a dedicated staff member available for monthly full-day training sessions. Priority is given to conservation-focused groups. CSO Impact Report

The Socio-Economic Assessment of Civil Society in The Bahamas offers an in-depth analysis of the impact of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across the nation. This report, commissioned by the Organization for Responsible Governance, presents findings from surveys and focus groups on the role CSOs play in enhancing social and economic conditions. The assessment includes policy recommendations aimed at strengthening CSO capacity, highlighting their contributions to education, social services, health, and community resilience. The report underscores the need for improved resources, coordination, and policy frameworks to maximize CSO contributions to national development.
