Exploring the Civil Society Policy Forum 2024
This month, ORG Executive Director Matthew Aubry participated in the Civil Society Policy Forum 2024, as part of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) & World Bank Annuals Meetings 2024.

The Civil Society Policy Forum (CSPF) has become an integral part of the Meetings, providing an open space for CSOs to dialogue and exchange views with World Bank and IMF staff, their peers, government delegations, and other stakeholders on a wide range of topics.
Matt commented “One of the things we’ve heard and learn is that not only does sustainable development require partnership, but it requires time and and the appropriate resources. The changes that we are faced with making as a world, as a country, as The Bahamas will take a while.”

During the forum, some of the important discussion topics were accelerating equality, climate change, affordable healthcare, financial inclusions and sustainability – among many others. These sessions were coupled with several opportunities for civil society leaders from around the world to engaged with leaders at the World Bank to network and build tangible relationships toward future developments.
Matt went onto share of the experience that “The road ahead will require us to be persistent, to build trust, and to demonstrate a commitment to followthrough. All of these require adequate resourcing for organizations like ORG, so we continue to appeal to our community to support our work to advocate around the issues that impact us most.”

ORG commits to continuing to play its part in putting The Bahamas on the world stage, making sure that issues affecting our people across our islands are at the discussion table. If you’d like to support the organization, please visit orgbahamas.com/donate for ways to give.
