ORG Hosts Fundraising Training for Bahamian NGOs
The Organization for Responsible Governance (ORG) is holding fast to its commitment to building the capacity for civil society organizations in The Bahamas. In partnership with the Bahamas Protected Areas Fund and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the organization recently hosted two fundraising trainings at IDB House, primarily for environmental NGOs. The hybrid sessions attracted participation from 80 organizations around The Bahamas including the Bahamas National Trust, Bahamas Plastic Movement, BREEF, Bahamas Humane Society & EarthCare.
ORG Assistant Director Steffon Evans commented “Over the past two years we have been working to pilot a Non-Profit Cluster Training model in The Bahamas to build better governance in civil society. The approach looks at grouping organizations with similar missions primarily for training; followed by building strategic partnerships that eliminate silos, and allow nonprofits to collaborate on more challenging tasks like fundraising, community education and project management.”
ORG is promoting the cluster model in The Bahamas as a viable model for civil society and will continue to run trainings over the next several months. Interested organizations can visit orgbahamas.com/npotraining for more information and to get involved in an upcoming session.
