ORG Bahamas proudly participated in the 21st International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) held in Vilnius, Lithuania. This prestigious event gathered over 2,000 leaders from civil society, government, and the private sector, representing more than 120 countries, under the theme “Standing Up for Integrity.”

ORG attended the conference to share its ongoing initiatives and strategies and to learn from the best practices and innovative approaches shared by other participants. The conference offered a variety of enlightening workshops, focusing on including marginalized groups, measuring governance effectiveness, and promoting accountability and civic involvement. These sessions underscored that the challenges faced by The Bahamas in pursuing positive change are shared by a global community committed to transparent and fair governance.

Throughout the event, ORG connected with leaders from NGOs, governments, and international organizations from diverse nations such as Macedonia, South Africa, Jordan, Bulgaria, Cote d’Ivoire, Brazil, Madagascar, and Germany. These interactions enriched ORG’s knowledge and paved the way for future collaborations, demonstrating the power of global networking in advancing the cause of transparent governance.

A notable highlight was ORG’s attendance at a session chaired by Peter Eigen, the founder of Transparency International. The session titled “Working Across Sectors to Build Consensus for Governance Reform” underscored the critical need for collaboration between civil society, government, and the private sector to develop sustainable solutions to governance issues. This aligns with ORG’s mission to improve governance through community engagement initiatives like Active Citizens Bahamas and the Not-for-Profit Cluster Training series.
